The art and science of Ayurveda is more than 5,000 years old. It is the oldest continuously practiced health-care system in the world. Ayurveda concentrates on prevention and understanding one’s own makeup. The goal of Ayurveda is to teach us how to attain optimal health through an intimate relationship with ourselves and all of nature. In Ayurveda, we work with lifestyle choices, diet, herbal remedies, bodywork treatments, and cleansing. These massage continuing education classes focus on using Ayurveda in a massage practice.
Mandy Main has been practicing Ayurveda since 2010 and has been using these techniques successfully in her massage practice. She brings to the Ayurveda classes a wealth of knowledge in massage and energetic techniques from many different lineages including Usui Reiki, martial arts, Ayurveda, Yoga, and Swedish Massage. Mandy is passionate about sharing her knowledge to empower others. Her classes are always fun, informative, and down-to-earth. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Held at Sarasota School of Massage Therapy
This class uses a basic understanding of Ayurveda and applies the theories to bodywork. This course uses lecture, discussion and hands-on experiences to introduce and explore new modalities for the massage therapist based on traditional Ayurvedic remedies. The lecture will inform participants of the origins and purpose of different Ayurvedic massage techniques. In particular, Heart Basti and Abhyanga protocols will be discussed, demonstrated and experienced. Most of the course allows for hands-on experiences so that each therapist demonstrates proficiency in administering these modalities.
Experiencing the modalities will allow the participants to be able to describe and market their new skills to clients. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to utilize both Heart Basti and Abhyanga in their massage practice.
