An Ayurvedic cleanse is not a fast, we eat nourishing foods everyday.
And the best part? You will have a community to support you through it.
This detoxification process is done in stages. Our first video meeting on Sunday, April 8 will cover everything you need to know. You will have time to gather some ingredients and prepare yourself. The pre-cleanse phase will begin on Tuesday, April 10. Among other things, this entails using ghee or a similar product to attract the fat soluble toxins that are stuck in the body causing uncomfortable symptoms such as aches and pains, brain fog, insomnia, allergies and more. The actual cleanse lasts 3 days and will begin on Friday, April 13. Each morning we have a smoothie type drink with liver and gallbladder supporting ingredients for breakfast and then lunch and dinner are kitchari. Kitchari is a classic Indian dish that is nourishing, sustaining and easy to digest.
There are other practices that we invite into the cleanse such as skin brushing, self-massage, time for reflection, and more. Herbs are supplied to ensure that we are eliminating throughout the process and there are some optional practices to take this cleanse even deeper. Ideally this is more than just a physical cleanse. Hopefully we are able to make this a whole being experience by inviting spiritual practices that help to connect us to our energetic source.
This simple cleanse will not remove all the toxins that have built up in your body over the years. But it can be a great start to feeling better and creating a cycle of wellness. Ideally, this is done seasonally and can easily be something to incorporate regularly into your life. Many people continue to use some of the practices long after the cleanse is over and look forward to making the cleanse a regular practice.
We will meet virtually on Sunday, April 8 to discuss the process and find out what will be needed for a successful detox. There will be plenty of time to have your questions answered, receive clear descriptions, and exact recipes to get yourself prepared.
The detoxification practices will take place on Tuesday, April 10 through Sunday, April 15. This cleanse is designed to fit into your life. The practices will be done in your home on your own schedule but to get the most out of the process, you will want to schedule less activities during this week.
Whether you are new to detoxing or are a seasoned cleanser, you can be sure that this will take you to the next level of health and wellbeing. This isn’t only about food. This is a whole being detox where you will be asked to look at your habits and spend some extra time on self care practices that you may want to continue long after the cleanse is over.
